Telnet port 80
Port yang paling umum digunakan di Internet. I also tried netstat -ao. Why can't I telnet to port 80 ? How to telnet to port 443 to test HTTPS sites. If you run a web server on port 80 on the machine above - there are 3 different addresses you could list. Connected to 192.168.178.2.

I'm not able to telnet to port 80 for the server on the DMZ port. Thats the right step. How to go about this?

Like the web server works on port 80, a DNS server works on port 53, SSH server works on port 22, a MySQL server works on port 3306 and so on. The telnet command connects to the host you specify as the first argument on the port you specify as the second argument (or 23, if you only specify a single argument).. It did not show a port 80 anywhere. Do this to test and see if everything is functioning correctly.

For example we can enter the below command to attempt connect to google.com on port 80: telnet google.com 80

For example, telnet textmmode.com 23 is the same as running the command telnet textmmode.com, but not the same as telnet textmmode.com 95, which connects to the same server but on port 95. You can say 10.20.30.40 which means that any traffic to that address will get piked up. Since there is no server with the address port (unless you specified it in your pc's hosts file), telnet couldn't connect to it.

Why can't I telnet to port 80 ?

Or even better, SSH on a non-standard port with some other restrictions such as what IPs or interfaces can access, port knocking, VPN, etc. The command is used in the format of ‘telnet hostname/ip address port‘ and entered into either command prompt or powershell under Windows, or through the shell in Linux or Unix. Enfin il est également possible de préciser le port à utiliser en faisant suivre l'adresse IP ou le nom du serveur par le numéro de port : telnet 125.64.124.77 80 Commandes sous Telnet Posted on December 10, 2014 by Matt. But, of course, that won’t work for HTTPS sites, because you’re expected to set up an SSL connection, not send HTTP commands. When you tried to execute telnet port, it tried to connect to the server port on port 23. I opened 8080 on the server. Thats the right step.

However when I try to test and see if port 80 is open, .45 gives me this message. For example, if I wanted to test whether the device 192.168.1.100 had it’s webserver (port 80) running: telnet 192.168.1.100 80 We see a blank screen so we know that port 80 is open on this device. Thanks again. ~ 110 – POP3 Port, alias Post Office Protocol, port server pop mail.

The last portion of the command is used for the Telnet port number but is only necessary to specify if it's not the default port of 23.
Anyway it is a real phantom. I did try using telnet 127.0.0.1 80 it displayed nothing.

Now, temporarily open up port 23 on the firewall and try to telnet in, just don't leave it open.
